We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Unqualified Nursery Assistant to join our team, focusing on Meal and Snack Support. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and serving of meals and snacks to children in a nurturing environment. You will play a crucial part in ensuring that children receive healthy and balanced meals while fostering a positive dining experience. This position is a term time only position and will be required to work from 10am-5pm Monday-Friday.

Duties

  • Assist in the preparation of nutritious meals and snacks for children, adhering to dietary requirements and allergies.
  • Support the serving of meals, ensuring that all children are engaged and encouraged to try new foods.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the dining area before, during, and after meal times.
  • Communicate effectively with children to promote good table manners and social interaction during meals.
  • Collaborate with other nursery staff to create a safe and welcoming environment for all children.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance your skills in childcare and early childhood education practices.

Experience

  • Previous experience working with children is highly desirable, particularly in a nursery or childcare setting.
  • Familiarity with early childhood education principles is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills in English are essential for interacting with both children and colleagues.
  • Leadership qualities are beneficial for guiding children during meal times.
  • A valid driving licence may be advantageous for potential transport needs related to nursery activities. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in childcare while contributing positively to the development of young children's eating habits and social skills.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £10.00-£12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week
