Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Window & Door Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing doors in residential properties. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes and the ability to work safely and efficiently on-site. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the building industry while contributing to high-quality projects.
Responsibilities
- Measure and mark window / door openings accurately according to project specifications and schematics
- Install new doors, ensuring proper sealing, insulation, and alignment for optimal performance
- Remove old or damaged doors carefully to minimise damage to surrounding structures
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively during installation processes
- Assist with related tasks such as plastering, masonry, or construction painting as required
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects on time and to high standards
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans as necessary
Qualifications
- Proven experience in window & door fitting
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction and fabrication tasks
- Knowledge of schematics and technical drawings relevant to installation projects
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various weather conditions and environments
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for precise measurements and fitting
- Valid UK driving licence is desirable for site travel purposes
- Prior experience with construction painting or masonry is advantageous but not essential
- Commitment to health and safety standards within the construction industry
