As a Development HR Advisor you will be part of the HR Business support team. You will have a HR background and a strong understanding of employment relations and working towards CIPD level 3 or 5.

In this role you will be working closely with HR Advisors and HR Business Partners by observing ER case management, supporting in relevant meetings and managing the HR Business Support inbox. Therefore, we are looking for a proactive individual, with good attention to detail, who is passionate about supporting the team and delivering excellent service.

You will be based in Derby (DE65 6BG) and will be required to attend the office 3 times a week. The successful candidate must be willing to travel to multiple sites and able to adjust start and finish times when needed.

Key responsibilities of the HR Development Advisor:

Work alongside the Development HR Advisor to manage the HR Business Support Mailbox in a timely fashion, ensuring escalations to the wider HR team are made as required.

Complete necessary recording and analysis of employee relations and absence activity in an accurate and timely manner.

Provide supporting documentation to managers and employees in line with policy / procedural expectations.

Assist HR Officer activities during business restructures / changes

Take accurate and appropriate meeting minutes, ensuring subsequent actions are carried out to meet both company and legal requirements for a fair and consistent procedure.

Facilitate good relationships with managers, employees and TU colleagues.

Work towards providing independent advice to support relevant managers, colleagues and line managers in relation to Yusen people management activities as required

Work closely to support HR Advisor managing projects, timelines and case management.

Carry out externally provided Employment Law updates / webinars / seminars as appropriate.

Undertake all required training and development programmes implemented by the company to ensure compliance with business objectives.

Work towards being able to support managers with their understanding of Yusen procedures and HR best practice by providing advice, coaching and training as appropriate.

Key Requirements:

CIPD qualified or working towards level 3 or 5

A background in logistics or manufacturing is preferred

Proven and relevant HR administrative experience

Experience of working independently using own initiative to complete tasks and projects

Relevant stakeholder management experience

Ability to analyse complicated issues and work productively towards a suitable solution.

Inquisitive mindset and a willingness to learn and develop professionally

Understanding of employment law, particularly relating to disciplinary, absence management and equality.

Excellent communication skills with colleagues across the business

Good time management skills, able to self-prioritise and meet deadlines

Practical problem-solving ability

Ability to demonstrate flexibility in working hours where required
