As a
Senior Category Manager -Products & Payments
, you'll take ownership of two key procurement categories:
Products
(supporting Electric Vehicle and Solar & Heating Franchise business units) and
Payments
(covering merchant services, fintech, and consumer financing).
You'll lead the creation and delivery of category strategies, mentor a small team of two Category Managers, and ensure every procurement decision aligns with
Plan Zero
ambitions. This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role, focused on commercial impact, ethical sourcing, and high-performing collaboration.
The Role
As the Senior Category Manager - Products & Payments, you will:
- Develop and execute category strategies to maximise value, mitigate risks, and align with business goals.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of Category Managers, fostering growth and best practice in procurement.
- Drive supplier negotiations, delivering optimal commercial outcomes and long-term partnerships.
- Act as the key business partner to senior stakeholders across Commercial Leadership Team.
- Champion sustainability and ethical sourcing within the procurement process, aligned to
Plan Zero
goals. - Lead end-to-end procurement activities, from RFx to contract management, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
- Oversee supplier performance and governance, resolving escalations and ensuring continuous improvement.
- Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and track supplier performance.
- Present major commercial initiatives to senior leaders, influencing decisions at C-suite level.
- Support the evolution of procurement systems and tools to enhance team efficiency and compliance.
About You
You're a strategic, commercially minded procurement professional who thrives in fast-paced, purpose-driven environments. You combine strong leadership skills with deep procurement expertise and a genuine commitment to sustainability.
You will:
- Have 5+ years' experience in procurement or category management, ideally in complex, high-growth organisations.
- Bring experience managing supplier relationships at a strategic level, driving performance and innovation.
- Be confident leading cross-functional projects and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Have experience mentoring and developing teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Be data-driven, with a strong understanding of procurement analytics and insights.
- Have excellent negotiation, commercial, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge of procurement systems (e.g., Workday Strategic Sourcing).
- Be passionate about sustainable procurement and ethical supplier management.
