Job Description

Job Purpose

The Technology Business Analyst (Tech BA) will be a key member of a project team to implement a new Content Management System (CMS) to replace multiple legacy CMS. They will work with a broad stakeholder group of internal Fastmarkets teams, the product vendor and implementation partner to deliver the target state and business benefits. They will also support discovery work to shape the next project phase of this multi-year initiative.

During the first phase, they will support every stage of the remaining project lifecycle through:

  • Integration
  • Migration
  • Testing
  • Rollout
  • Post go-live support

This role demands a combination of strong data analysis and technical skills, effective communication and the ability to navigate the complexities of a dynamic environment from both a technology and a stakeholder perspective.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, driven and has a passion to be part of a fast-paced, successful team.

Fundamentals

  • Extensive commercial experience of implementing headless CMS - preferably – and related taxonomies, content models and workflows.
  • Business knowledge of news, pricing and commodities and working with Editors, Reporters, Product Managers and Technology stakeholders.
  • Ability to demonstrate extensive commercial experience across a wide range of projects at a wider range of companies.
  • Previous experience acting as a Scrum Master to facilitate Scrum events.
  • Experience of large-volume data migration from legacy to new applications.
  • Able to analyse large data sets for analysis, cleansing and transformation.

General skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to produce high-quality documentation appropriate for business and technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable in taking ownership for ensuring clarity on the detailed implementation and ensuring smooth communication.
  • Confidence for initiating and leading workshops, meetings, testing and training with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate within different environments and work with varied processes, stakeholders, and delivery challenges.
  • Experience of working on projects with third parties including product vendors and implementation partners.
  • Mindset of collaboration and teamwork for delivery as part of remote teams and able to build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Attention to detail: able to analyse a problem from every angle and validate assumptions.

Technology

  • Experienced the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to test, go-live and post-go-live support and documentation.
  • Able to demonstrate a solid understanding of the fundamentals of software development, SaaS and Azure-based cloud infrastructure.
  • Considers information security and compliance requirements during analysis and design and rigorously tracks their implementation.
  • Knowledge and experience of AI enabled products and commercial opportunities e.g. LLMs.
  • Experience of working in a hybrid Waterfall and Agile delivery environment.
  • Experience with identifying, specifying, and testing new or modified system interfaces and feeds e.g., APIs, JSON, HTML etc.
  • Experience of projects built in Microsoft technologies and Azure e.g. Blob storage.
  • Practical experience of using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro and Lucid Charts.
