The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Cashier to join our existing friendly, professional finance team.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for the legal cashiering function for the group, delivering an efficient, effective and accurate service. As an experienced hands-on legal cashier, you will be responsible for managing the cashiering team to ensure the smooth running of a best-in-class department. The finance team work closely together in a supportive and professional environment. As Lead Casher, you will act as a key contact for all internal stakeholders as well as for external clients, our banking partner and suppliers. You will help to ensure we maintain strict adherence to the Solicitors' Accounts Rules ("SARS") and that the cashiering team's knowledge and training is kept up to date. You will also assist the Finance Manager with the month-end close process. Although this is a management role, there will be a requirement to work "on rota" to ensure appropriate cover for periods of annual leave and sickness.

The Company
You will be employed by CS Law, which is a service Company for our Group operations. Within the group are two separate law firms, Equilaw Ltd and Thomas Legal, both of which have won numerous awards in their respective sectors.

Equilaw Ltd operates a national service within the equity release sector, providing independent expert legal advice to those wishing to release equity from their home. Equilaw is recognised for its outstanding performance and delivery in the Equity Release market.

Thomas Legal is a niche property law firm providing first-class service in residential conveyancing.

Both firms have won numerous awards in recent years. It is a very exciting time to join the team, with both operational companies exploring growth opportunities, which, in turn, provides the opportunity to develop and grow the cashiering team

Qualifications

  • A financial qualification (e.g. AAT or early-stage CIMA or equivalent qualification) would be desirable but is not a prerequisite

Essential Criteria

  • Previous legal finance experience.
  • Experience in supporting the delivery of process change leading to standardisation and efficiency improvements in the legal cashiering environment.
  • Experience in ensuring compliance with the Solicitors' Accounts Rules.
  • Having led a successful team in a fast-paced environment.
