The Role

We are looking for a Legal Cashier to join our Finance team within Business Services. You will support legal teams and clients through accurate billing, WIP and disbursement management, and compliant financial processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and reconcile completion statements and matter ledgers
  • Process receipts, cheques, credit card payments and Legal Aid transactions in line with SRA rules
  • Prepare client invoices, credit notes, write-offs and file closures
  • Conduct regular WIP reviews and agree billing opportunities with fee earners
  • Bill WIP and disbursements for a portfolio of fee earners
  • Carry out credit control up to LBA stage
  • Provide reporting on lockup and other financial metrics
  • Liaise with clients and legal teams to resolve finance queries
About You
  • Highly organised with strong numeracy skills and attention to detail
  • Confident working in a fast-paced, professional environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Aderant or similar PMS experience is a plus
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • Knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules (training available)
  • Experience in a legal or professional services finance team is essential
