Company Overview:

A leading designer and manufacturer of technically advanced and intelligent power amplifiers predominantly used in Electronic Warfare applications for UK and International customers.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Factory Manager, the Quality Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet the required quality standards, while driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. The Quality Manager will oversee quality assurance systems, manage audits, and lead initiatives to maintain and enhance product quality and customer satisfaction. They will work closely with customers and suppliers to ensure a flow of accurate information and to ensure satisfactory root cause corrective action when issues occur.

Key responsibilities:

· Maintain and develop the company's Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 and relevant industry standards.

· Lead a small team of quality professionals ensuring that work is well planned and undertaken to a high standard as well as managing high levels of staff engagement in the team.

· Monitor and enforce compliance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.

· Conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits with certification bodies and customers.

· Investigate and resolve quality issues, including root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.

· Manage inspection processes for incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods.

· Maintain documentation and records for quality processes, audits, and certifications.

· Train and support staff on quality procedures and best practices.

· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, improve efficiency, and enhance product reliability. Be a champion for positive change within the business.

· Liaise with suppliers and customers to ensure quality standards are met and maintained.

· Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in both supplier and customer organisations.

· Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management both at daily tactical and strategic levels.

· Support the Factory Manager with the management of other ISO approvals such as ISO 45001, 14001 and 27001.

· Ensure that the Quality function has appropriate oversight of all other business functions including Engineering, Finance, HR and Commercial.

Minimum requirements:

· Must be eligible to work in the UK

· Nationality within NATO

· Must be able to obtain BPSS clearance with the potential to obtain SC clearance in the future if required

· Ability to coach/train our Electronic Assemblers with soldering and rework

· Minimum 10 years' experience in a quality role within electronic manufacturing or a similar industry

· Qualifications in Engineering, Quality Management, or related discipline (desirable)

· Experience of working in a small, growing business (desirable)

· Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant standards

· Experience with quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, 8D problem-solving, and root cause analysis

· Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills

· Commercially astute

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration

· Ability to lead and influence quality culture within the organisation.

· Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to continuous improvement

· Proficient in Microsoft Office software

· Hold a full UK driving licence

Additional Information:

Working hours: 40 hours per week – 08:30 to 17:00 Monday to Friday.

Travel: Occasional UK travel may be required (normally in working hours)

Based on site in Ross-on-Wye

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to £50,000.00 per year
