We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our team in providing support for our individuals developing their independence within our Supported Living Scheme. Job Description

As a Support Worker, you will work directly with adults, with appropriate support, guidance, and under the supervision of the senior leadership team.

Your role may include:

  • Providing domiciliary support
  • Encouraging independence, developing independence skills and self-confidence
  • Supporting individuals with daily routines (e.g., personal care, cooking, cleaning)
  • Promoting access to education, volunteering, and employment opportunities
  • Supporting participation in community-based activities and hobbies
  • Helping individuals develop life skills, interests, and social networks
  • Encouraging safe, healthy decision-making and lifestyles
  • Supporting individuals with health appointments and wellbeing needs

You will also assist with maintaining relationships with family and friends where appropriate, helping individuals maintain a strong and supportive network.

Staff are expected to be positive role models, uphold dignity and respect, promote wellbeing and safety, and support people to achieve their personal goals.

All staff must be effective communicators (written and verbal) and be IT competent. Full training will be provided to ensure all tasks are completed to the required standard.

What We Look For:

Experience:

Experience in a relevant setting is desirable but not essential. We welcome transferable skills.

Qualifications:

Level 3/4 in Health & Social Care is desirable but not essential training will be provided to successful candidates.

Completion of the Care Certificate is desirable but not essential—training will be provided to successful candidates.

Skills:

Resilience, empathy, stamina, good humour, and understanding of adults with autism, learning disabilities, and associated conditions.

Personality Traits:

Approachable, good listener, honest, trustworthy, reliable, and supportive. Must be able to build professional relationships, understand boundaries, and be engaging and respectful.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to undertake sleep-in duties when required
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Physically and emotionally fit
  • Flexible and responsive to changing service needs
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car

Job Details:

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Contract: 160 hours per month

Pay:

  • £12.60 per hour (unqualified)
  • £13.80 per hour (qualified – Level 3/4 in Health & Social Care or equivalent)
  • £73.50 sleep-in allowance per night
