The Role
We are looking for a Junior Associate to join our highly regarded Disease team in Glasgow. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex and high-profile disease litigation within a supportive and collaborative environment. You will assist in managing a diverse caseload of Disease claims, including both pre-litigated and litigated matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling a range of disease claims including noise-induced hearing loss, asbestos-related conditions, upper limb disorders, and stress-related injuries.
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and correspondence.
- Liaising with clients, Counsel, and medical experts.
- Providing strategic advice on liability, causation, and quantum.
- Negotiating settlements and attending court hearings where appropriate.
- Ensuring compliance with client SLAs and internal quality standards.
The Team
Clyde & Co's Disease team is recognised for its technical excellence and pragmatic approach. We act for major insurers, corporates, and public sector bodies across the UK. Our Edinburgh office plays a key role in delivering high-quality legal services across Scotland and beyond, with a strong focus on collaboration and innovation.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in personal injury litigation, ideally with exposure to disease claims.
- Strong legal drafting and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive and professional approach to client service.
- Scottish qualified.
