Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care to residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors, and the ability to work collaboratively with other staff members. This role requires a proactive approach to supporting residents with their daily activities while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Duties
- Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Ability to provide residents with medication, understand how the procedures around medication and its documentation
- Supervise and support junior staff members, ensuring adherence to care standards.
- Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and changes in their condition.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other team members to provide updates on care plans.
- Participate in training sessions and continuous professional development to enhance leadership skills.
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes.
Requirements
- Previous experience in senior care or a related field is essential.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with residents and families.
- Ability to develop and follow care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
- Experience in supervising staff or leading a team is essential.
- Trained to give medication to residents is desirable
- Proficiency in IT systems for record keeping and communication is beneficial.
- A genuine passion for providing high-quality care to seniors is crucial.
