Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care to residents in our care home. This role requires a proactive approach to supporting residents with their daily activities while ensuring their safety and well-being.

Duties

  • Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to provide residents with medication, understand how the procedures around medication and its documentation
  • Supervise and support junior staff members, ensuring adherence to care standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and changes in their condition.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other team members to provide updates on care plans.
  • Participate in training sessions and continuous professional development to enhance leadership skills.
  • Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in senior care or a related field is essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with residents and families.
  • Ability to develop and follow care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
  • Experience in supervising staff or leading a team is essential.
  • Trained to give medication to residents is desirable
  • Proficiency in IT systems for record keeping and communication is beneficial.
  • A genuine passion for providing high-quality care to seniors is crucial.
