Summary:

The Installation Manager will be responsible for working with the Operations Manager, internal and sub-contracted installation teams, the engineering delivery team, and the sales team; ensuring the successful installation of our rooftop solar PV and ground mounted systems. These cover new build and retrofit, in the domestic and the commercial space.

The installation manager will deal with the technical and practical aspects of an installation, the on-site client relationship and managing Treadlighter's on-site staff and sub-contracted labour to ensure a successful installation and a satisfied client.

Pre-Requisite Requirements:

  • 2 years Rooftop Solar PV Experience

  • CSCS Gold Card Holder (or equivalent)

  • 4 years Building Site Experience

  • Hold Full UK Driving Licence

Details:

Every PV installation job comprises a sub-set of the activities set out below. The senior installer must work towards an understanding how each activity should be carried out and to assume increasing levels of supervision over the staff to ensure that the work is completed to a high standard. The senior installer will be responsible for the health and safety of any Treadlighter staff working under their supervision

Activities will include (over time):

  • Understand and adhering to the site risk assessment and method statements (RAMS), for each job to ensure that the site and conditions are suitable for the project

  • Ensure the safe delivery of the equipment and tools ensuring that they are kept safe and secure throughout the installation.

  • Check the equipment to ensure it matches that specified and is undamaged and safe to install.

  • Make sure that the installation team members understand their roles and responsibilities.

  • Survey the site to ensure that the PV system can be installed according to the specification, in particular taking into account the location and geometry of the panels and mounting system.

  • Supervise the installation of the mounting system

  • Supervise the installation of the PV panels with particular care taken to ensure that every panels is tested before installation and that all fastenings and cable ties are secure

  • Understand the requirements for the DC or AC string connection of the array(s) and ensure that all cables are correctly secured and labelled (training can be given)

  • Test and record all DC string voltages and currents

  • Record all on-site & technical data using internal software

  • Co-ordinate the work with the Treadlighter Electrician with regard to the installation of the inverter(s) and the AC connections.

  • Ensure that the site is left tidy and that no tools or equipment is left behind

  • Demonstrated to the client or their designated representative how the system works and answer any questions.

  • Where formal sign-off is required ensure that this is obtained.

Additional responsibilities will include: sourcing and arranging sub-contractors with Ops Manager & HR, dealing with clients and main contractors, helping manage any supply issues or design changes, on-site logistics, quality assurance and maintenance.

There will be ongoing and additional training as the technology and our service offering evolves, and you will be required to carry out physical installation work. There will be some overnights at hotels required, where there will be overtime payments and per diems.
