Due to continued success and growth across Essex, the Second Steps team are looking for experienced, passionate and dedicated early years educators to work with all ages from 3 months to 5 years. We currently have a vacancy for a full time Level 3 Nursery Practitioner, working between the hours of 7-6.30pm Monday to Friday We are looking for an enthusiastic, happy, fun practitioner who is good at thinking on the spot and being spontaneous to work.

Our nursery follows a child-led approach using the children's interests to support and assist the children's development. We are a lovely home from home setting using natural resources and have a great outdoor space in order to enhance the children's development through free-flow

About the role we require:

  • Willingness to learn.

  • Level 3 NVQ Qualification or equivalent

  • Previous experience of working with young children.

  • Sound knowledge of child development for children from birth to five years.

  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

  • Knowledge of child protection procedures.

  • Good communication skills.

  • An understanding of play based approaches to children's learning and development.

  • Commitment to equal opportunities.

  • Commitment to working effectively with young children and families.

  • Friendly and flexible approach at work which facilitates the development of effective relationships.

  • To be able to observe and support children's development within your key group.

  • To be enthusiastic and to be able to work effectively within a team environment.
