What you will enjoy doing

• Ensure professional scientific, technical oversight and management is maintained during the production and certification of all Morden products, including raw material analysis, pure products and calibration mixes.
• Support/Participate in internal and external audits to ensure satisfactory outcomes, these will include external agencies such as UKAS, MHRA and our customers.
• Provide advanced analytical and technical expertise to design, develop and implement new projects specifically around technically advanced high accuracy high value products support new/ongoing business at Morden, including the evaluation, specification and selection of new analytical equipment to maintain and enhance capability.
• Ensure all work instructions relating to analysis and certification are maintained and developed as required by the business. These instructions are kept up to date, accurate and are suitable to support Morden Laboratory activities.
• Develop and provide documented measurement uncertainty budgets compliant with the ISO Guide to Uncertainty of Measurement (GUM) for gravimetric filling and analysis methods to underpin the accreditation of new and existing products.
• Using detailed scientific knowledge to identify, evaluate and develop analytical processes to support new and existing Special Products business.

What makes you great

• A degree in Chemistry with prior experience of advanced analytical techniques and a broad scientific background and proven track record in problem solving.
• Technical and practical knowledge of Special Gases production processes, Medical analytical and data integrity requirements & Special Product analysis procedures.
• Mathematical ability and working knowledge of statistics and experience of calculating measurement uncertainties.
• Demonstrates the ability to understand fundamental scientific issues and root cause problems and provide robust solutions.
• Externally qualified UKAS auditor for ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 17034 quality systems with experience of establishing such systems and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage others at all levels both internally and externally, avoiding conflict.
