The Opportunity

This company is seeking a
Data Engineer
to join its growing Data Hub team. You'll play a key role in designing and developing data pipelines that power strategic insights and customer services across one of the UK's largest financial institutions.

This is a
hybrid
role with 2+ days per week expected onsite in one of the offices in
Leeds, Halifax, or Bristol
.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and optimise scalable data pipelines using Workday Reporting and Prism.
  • Extract, transform and load data from internal and external sources to support analytics and reporting.
  • Collaborate with data partners and product owners to deliver features aligned to roadmap goals.
  • Analyse data to uncover trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Take part in planning sessions, retrospectives, and project delivery cycles.
  • Produce insights to support strategic decision-making using SQL and Power BI.
  • Stay current with industry best practices in data engineering and infrastructure.

About You

You're a hands-on data professional who thrives in collaborative teams and is eager to deliver impact through reliable, secure, and well-designed data solutions.

You will:

  • Have practical experience with
    Workday Reporting
    ,
    Workday Prism
    , and
    Power BI
    .
  • Be fluent in
    SQL
    and enjoy solving complex data challenges.
  • Be confident translating business problems into data solutions.
  • Value clean, structured data and efficient data architecture.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
  • Be comfortable working in hybrid settings with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Working in large-scale or regulated environments such as banking or insurance.
  • Familiarity with agile project management and DevOps tools.
  • Experience with data governance frameworks and compliance reporting.
