Job Summary:
We are
seeking a talented and motivated Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
Become a key player in our team as an Associate Mechanical Engineer and help us drive forward our goals. You'll join our Operational Engineering (OE) team, which delivers Total Customer Solutions by resolving product lifecycle challenges across our global portfolio. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to varied engineering challenges and make a meaningful impact across the business.
- Assist in delivering technical and commercially sound product enhancements to meet time and cost targets
- Support supply site tooling through modifications or renewal of existing and legacy product tooling
- Facilitate engineering change across departments and companies within Watson Marlow
- Contribute to product, systems and process optimisation to support Group objectives
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to coordinate technical outputs
- Investigate and recommend technology upgrades relevant to OE functions
- Foster a culture of openness, technical excellence, continuous improvement and learning
- Share knowledge and skills with colleagues across the business
- Students in their final year of A-levels with demonstrable interest in engineering
- Students completing a relevant engineering qualification such as HNC/HND
- Familiarity with engineering systems – particularly CAD-based product design
- Exposure to engineering control and lifecycle management
- A keen eye for detail and a proactive problem-solving mindset
Desirable Experience:
- Interpreting engineering datasheets and writing reports
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- Project management awareness
- Understanding of 3D scanning/analysis, FEA, DFMEA, FMEA, RCA
- Understanding of plastic injection moulding, aluminium casting, machining processes, metrology, mouldflow
- Mechanical test methods, compliance and validation
