Overview

This is a genuine opportunity for an experienced underwriter to create, shape, and own a book of business within one of the most dynamic and strategically important areas of the market. Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite profitable Marine Hull & Marine War business in line with the company's strategy and risk appetite.

  • Build and sustain strong relationships with Lloyd's brokers, underwriters, and A+ rated capacity providers in London and internationally.

  • Attract, manage, and grow underwriting capacity.

  • Leverage proprietary data analytics to drive evidence-based, disciplined underwriting decisions.

  • Ensure compliance with delegated authority agreements and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to design tailored solutions across Marine Hull and Marine War risks.

  • Drive the profitable development of the Marine Hull & War portfolio, complementing the company's wider specialty offering.

Candidate Profile
  • Proven track record in underwriting Marine Hull & Marine War (or closely related marine specialty lines).

  • Established broker and market relationships in London and internationally.

  • Demonstrated ability to attract and retain underwriting capacity.

  • Commercially astute with strong negotiation and influencing skills.

  • Analytical mindset, comfortable applying data-driven insights to underwriting.

  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and committed to building a long-term profitable book.
