Westhill, Aberdeenshire, United Kingdom Energy Job Search Full time £30,000 - £60,000 per year

*What will you be doing?*
Subsea7 have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate ROV Electronics Engineer to join our Offshore Delivery team based at our office in Westhill, Aberdeenshire on a full time, staff basis. The candidate should have recently graduated and be available to join our Graduate Engineering Programme, which is due to start in January 2026.

You will embark on a two-year Graduate Engineering Programme and enjoy a variety of experiences, which include formal global & local training sessions, on-the-job development, mentoring and personal development.

The ROV Graduate will assist and learn in the configuration, testing and operation of the required ROV Electronic equipment deployed on Subsea7 ROVs. They will learn how data communication systems will work and what can be done to tackle obsolescence issues. The ROV graduate will work to develop knowledge and skills to progress to an ROV Engineer role.

  • Daily assistance to vessel Superintendents / ROV TA in technical matters related to operational issues including any equipment upgrades or specific tasks
  • Take an active role in supporting the ROV Technical Authority and OMT execution of operational tasks
  • Ensure that any equipment interface support issues are managed to conclusion and in a timely manner, while ensuring that safe working practices are complied with
  • Gather feedback on ROV operations from available sources and use this to develop and implement improvement actions or guide future projects. This should include, but not be limited to, the creation of best practise documents or technical notes
  • Regularly present project operations and lessons learned to the ROV group and wider operational community
  • Ensure that department held interfacing information on equipment and ROVs is kept up to date and accurate
  • Collaborate with suppliers and colleagues to understand the technology currently available on the market and upcoming technological advances. Consider how Subsea 7 can apply this technology to deliver projects more efficiently and reduce equipment damage
  • Ensure that all operational and technical lessons learned are documented and captured on the ROV SharePoint site in order to produce a central ROV knowledge resource which captures best practise between territories

*What experience would we like you to have?*

  • Recently graduated to degree level in either Electrical Engineering or (preferred) Electronic Engineering / Data Engineering
  • A technical electronic engineering background
  • Pleasant disposition with the capability to be authoritative when necessary
  • Good co-ordination, organisation and liaison skills with the ability to seek and gain consensus solutions to complex issues
  • Able to communicate effectively and articulately at all levels
  • Capable of influencing technical decisions relative to the equipment owned and managed by the group

Our commitment to you, Subsea 7 will provide you with:

  • Support from both our local and corporate offices throughout your time on the scheme.
  • Opportunities to develop your technical and non-technical skills by attendance at courses, through field trips, and in your day-to-day job.
  • The chance to network with experts and the global graduate engineering community.

The Graduate scheme is just the beginning - your professional and personal development journey continues throughout your career at Subsea 7.
