Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Engineering:

  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate provisioning and management of resources while ensuring security best practices.
  • Optimize cloud resources for performance, cost efficiency, and security compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with security and governance standards, including encryption, access control, and vulnerability management.

DevOps:

  • Build and maintain automated workflows for secure application deployment and testing.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps practices with security principles into the software development lifecycle.
  • Implement containerization and orchestration with secure configurations to protect workloads.
  • Continuously improve build and deployment processes with a focus on minimizing security risks.

Site Reliability Engineering (SRE):

  • Ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance through proactive monitoring and secure incident response.
  • Develop and implement observability tools to monitor system health, detect anomalies, and identify security threats.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions to prevent recurring issues, including security vulnerabilities.
  • Define and measure Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs) with security considerations.

Database Administration (DBA):

  • Manage and optimize relational and non-relational databases with a focus on data security and integrity.
  • Perform database backups, recovery, and replication with secure configurations to support business continuity.
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies while ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • Ensure database access controls, encryption, and auditing are in place to protect sensitive data.

Network & Systems Administration:

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructure to ensure connectivity and protection against threats.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network and system performance issues, including security incidents.
  • Manage user access, permissions, and system configurations with strict adherence to security policies.
  • Ensure systems are patched, updated, and compliant with organizational security standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Security Expertise
    : Proven experience embedding security into cloud, DevOps, SRE, database, and network/system operations.
  • Infrastructure Expertise
    : Experience in managing secure cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
  • Automation
    : Proficiency in automating workflows and infrastructure management with security controls.
  • Reliability Practices
    : Strong knowledge of monitoring, incident management, and performance optimization with security considerations.
  • Database Management
    : Experience with secure database design, optimization, and administration.
  • Networking
    : Knowledge of secure network design, troubleshooting, and security best practices.
  • Systems Administration
    : Experience in managing operating systems, user access, and system configurations securely.
  • Soft Skills
    : Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in cloud, security, networking, or systems administration.
  • Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud environments with a focus on security.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems and microservices architecture with secure configurations.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks and security standards (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR, ISO

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Uptime and reliability of secure infrastructure and applications.
  • Efficiency and success rate of automated workflows with security controls.
  • Database performance and availability metrics with secure configurations.
  • Reduction in incident resolution times, including security incidents.
  • Network and systems performance metrics with security monitoring.
