Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Southall, London

Contract Type: Daily Supply and Long-Term

Pay Rate: £100 per day

Edsensori is seeking a patient and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support children with additional learning needs at a welcoming school in Southall. You'll work with pupils with Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, SEMH, and other complex needs, helping them reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group SEN support under the guidance of the SENCo and class teacher
  • Adapt learning materials and use strategies like Makaton, PECS, or visual aids
  • Promote inclusion, positive behaviour and emotional well-being
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and therapists to track progress

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN (school or specialist setting)
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Calm, proactive and flexible approach
  • Relevant training or Level 2/3 qualification desirable but not essential

Safeguarding Compliance:

All candidates placed by Edsensori are required to complete:

  • An enhanced DBS check (registered on the Update Service or new where required)
  • Verification of identity, right to work in the UK, and relevant qualifications
  • Two verified professional references covering recent employment
  • Safeguarding and child protection training

Edsensori operates in full compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006, and the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, and expects all candidates to uphold these standards.
