SEND Support Assistant- Term Time Only- rolled up holiday pay paid monthly in addition to salary.

Duties:

  • Educate and support individuals with special education needs, social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Assist in developing and implementing individualized plans to meet the unique needs of each individual.
  • Provide support and guidance to individuals in daily activities, including communication, socialization, and self-care.
  • Collaborate with a senior send support workers and managers to ensure the overall well-being and progress of individuals.
  • Create a safe and inclusive environment for individuals to learn and grow.
  • Support children and young people in managing their behaviour and social and emotional well-being.

Requirements:

Essential

  • Experience working with adults, with special education needs, or social, emotional and mental health issues.
  • Knowledge or experience in special education or related field
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with individuals on a personal level.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of individuals.

  • Work with a person centred approach

-Working knowledge of relevant polices and procedures

  • Must be willing to complete identified CPD training

Desirable

  • Experience of working specialist education or alternative educational provision. s

  • SEN Qualification or will work towards

  • Current DBS (however we can cover this)

-Paediatric First aid

  • Positive Handling/Team Teach qualification

-Valid drivers license

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: From £10,303.80 per year

Expected hours: 20 per week
