Nursery SENDCO

Hopscotch Day Nurseries in Eastleigh and Regents park settings are both seeking a passionate and experienced SENDCo to champion inclusive practice and support children with additional needs across all age groups. This is a hands-on role combining direct child support, coaching, and strategic SEND leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Coach practitioners to deliver high-quality inclusive practice
- Collaborate with families and external agencies to meet children's needs
- Lead and submit referrals and EHCP applications
- Deliver targeted interventions (e.g., phonics, physical development, talk boost, school readiness)
- Conduct audits and advise on SEN provision improvements
- Support the creation and implementation of IPPs, PECS, Welcomm, and other tools
- Guide room leaders and key persons through the OAP cycle
- Ensure timely completion of EHCPs, SEN funding applications, and referrals
Required:
- Level 3 in Early Years and Childcare
- Basic understanding of safeguarding
- Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills
- Willingness to undertake Level 2/3 SENCO and behaviour management training
- Strong IT skills
Desirable:
- Specific SEN training
- Knowledge of EYFS and OFSTED Inspection Framework (2021)
- Experience within Hopscotch Day Nurseries
- EAL training and First Aid Certificate

Hours: 40 hours week (Room and office based)
Salary Range :£29, £30, weeks a year)
