We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join Computershare's Risk and Compliance team as Technology & Information Security Risk Manager. This position can be based out of any of the above office locations. 

The Risk team is responsible for all matters relating to information technology, security risk and control, globally and for Computershare's legal entities.

The Technology & Information Security Risk Manager reports to CCT Chief Risk Officer and is a vital member of Computershare's Risk and Compliance Department.

A role you will love  

The role is responsible for providing independent risk oversight of the Computershare Corporate Trust (CCT) Technology Group, review of policies and standards, technology risk assessments and reporting. In addition, this role will lead certain Risk Management initiatives for our Computershare Trust Company, National Association, Delaware and India entities.  The CCT Business comprises of a wide variety of trust and agency services, in connection with debt securities issued by public and private corporations, government entities, and the banking and securities industries.

This role will assist with the training development, further development of the CCT Technology Risk Forum, advising the Technology Group on Risk related matters and act as a subject matter expert on technology risk related inquires and issues that arise in the normal course of business. 

You will be championing and supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of technology risk across Computershare.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Challenge the effectiveness of the controls and risk treatment plans implemented by the CCT Technology Group.
  • Escalate concerns to management when risks are not adequately addressed.
  • Staying up-to-date with internal standards and having a deep understanding of the strategic business plans/goals.
  • Working cooperatively with internal, external auditors and examiners as needed.
  • Communicate any regulatory changes impacting the CCT business to CCT Technology.
  • Conduct Risk and Control assessments & preparing escalation reporting as necessary.
  • Provide critical review of technology training.
  • Oversee the quality and completeness of technology risk findings, remediation plans, and exceptions.

What will you bring to the role?

The Senior Technology Risk Consultant will have significant experience in Technology Risk Management or equivalent Technology experience in financial services.  Experience in informing and educating employees and communicating with senior managers within Technology and Information Security groups is key.

The successful candidate will require excellent organisation skills and will be highly adept at multitasking within clearly defined timelines. In addition the role will require developed communication skills, providing clear written and/or verbal communications in response to Technology developments, risk assessments and change management initiatives as well as inquiries from the CCT business and internal and external audits. 

You will hold excellent people/relationship-building skills, adopt tact and diplomacy when dealing with challenging initiatives or confidential projects. 

Other skills & experience include:

  • Professional certification preferred.
  • Strong presentation, procedures and report writing skills. 
  • Excellent senior stakeholder management skills (the individual will work with CIOs and heads of technology who report into CEO-1 leaders).
  • Successful track record as a technology or information security risk manager, knowledge of the operational and regulatory complexities impacting the business from strategic, operational and change perspectives
  • Experience in operational risk management an added benefit.
