Glasgow, Glasgow City, United Kingdom House of Toad CIC Full time

Company Description

House of Toad is a creative and welcoming workspace located in Glasgow's West End, designed to feel like a home rather than a traditional office. Set in a charming Victorian townhouse in Park Circus, it provides an inspiring environment for artists, freelancers, small business owners, and remote workers to connect, grow, and collaborate. The space includes coworking rooms, art studios, and a diverse program of workshops and courses.

As a not-for-profit community interest company, House of Toad reinvests all earnings into creating subsidised courses in film, animation and SFX for care experienced people in Glasgow and young people with additional support needs. Every membership and studio hire supports the development of a lasting resource where creativity and collaboration thrive, amongst groups who may not otherwise be able to access it.

Role Description

Community & Operations Lead (4 days/week)

House of Toad CIC is seeking a senior, experienced Community & Operations Lead to oversee the day-to-day running of our building, members, and programmes. This is a hands-on, autonomous role: you will be the main on-site lead, ensuring the space is welcoming, organised, and operating smoothly.

Oversee daily building operations: stock, supplies, cleanliness, and safety

Coordinate bookings, schedules, and logistics for workshops, courses, and events

Arrange and supervise freelance staff, contractors, and cleaners

Maintain records and systems, and communicate updates to the Director

Ensure safeguarding and access procedures are followed

Hours: 4 days per week, 9.30am–6.00pm

Salary: £27,000–£32,000 per year (depending on experience)

**Qualifications / Requirements

Essential:**

Significant experience in a senior operational role in a busy organisation (e.g., office, venue, charity, education, hospitality, or similar)

Ability to manage multiple priorities independently

Strong organisational and decision-making skills

Reliable, consistent, and enthusiastic about running a complex space

Confident and professional interacting with a wide range of people

Desirable:
