Press Brake Operator

REPORTING TO:
CuttingSupervisor

SALARY:
Based on Experience

JOB PURPOSE:
The postholder will interpret drawings to programme CNC press brake machines to fabricate and fold sheet metal.

Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery

  • Interpret drawings for programming CNC press brake machines to fold metal.
  • To read and clearly understand engineering drawings and follow correctly.
  • Meet set targets.
  • Ensure internal customers are supplied all products as needed.
  • Quality ensure that all parts are folded to the correct standard.
  • Ensure proper handling of equipment and storage of all tools.
  • Safe and controlled movement of production parts ie lifting and transporting components in the workshop using Gantry and Jib cranes.
  • Leave working areas in a fit state to ensure no unnecessary health and safety risks prevail. Work in a manner that ensures the safety of oneself and other colleagues.

  • Fulfil the legal Health and Safety duties placed on employees by:

  • Co-operating with the company on Health & Safety matters;
  • Ensuring that you use work items provided by the company correctly and in accordance with the training and instruction received, including personal protective equipment (PPE);
  • Ensuring that you do not interfere with or misuse anything provided for health, safety, or welfare purposes.
  • Comply with all the companys policies and procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of personal accountability.
  • Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience and/or training.

This is not an exhaustive list and may be subject to change depending on the needs of the company. The post holder will be required to undertake any other reasonable duties discussed and directed by the Supervisor.
