Newcastle upon Tyne, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom Hubexo Full time

Hubexo Director of DevOps

Newcastle (Hybrid) 3 Days / 2

Salary £Competitive

Lead globally. Build the DevOps capability that unites 26 tech businesses into one global platform and define how Hubexo builds for the next decade.

Hubexo provides cutting-edge data, insights, and software solutions to the global construction industry. We specialise in project information, eTendering, product information, market intelligence, and specification. We help the world build better by delivering technology that shapes the places where people live, work, and play.

We're hiring a Director of DevOps to lead our global AWS cloud strategy and the distributed team of Cloud Engineers that powers it. You'll define the roadmap, set the standards, and build the DevOps capability that underpins Hubexo's future growth. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role at the heart of our transformation — driving performance, reliability, security, and cost optimisation across our cloud platforms.

You'll take ownership of our cloud infrastructure strategy, translating business vision into scalable, secure, and cost-efficient solutions. You'll lead and mentor Cloud Engineers worldwide, building a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. You'll embed
FinOps
practices that ensure transparency and control over
AWS spend
, work with developers to deliver efficient, developer-first infrastructure using EKS, ECS, and Docker, and advance automation through
CI/CD
and Infrastructure as Code using
Terraform
and
CloudFormation
. Security and compliance will be non-negotiable — you'll own
IAM
,
encryption
, and
governance
frameworks such as
ISO 27001
and
NIST
while implementing resilient, high-availability architectures and incident-management strategies that minimise downtime. You'll foster collaboration across Technology Delivery, Architecture, Finance, and Security to ensure alignment and impact.

You're a proven leader in
DevOps
and
Cloud Engineering
with deep AWS expertise and a track record of shaping
strategy
, building high-performing teams, and delivering
results
. You'll bring experience managing complex
AWS
estates, implementing
CI/CD pipelines
, and automating infrastructure at scale. You'll combine hands-on technical capability with strategic influence — balancing speed and security, innovation and governance. Certifications such as AWS DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect Professional are welcome but not essential.

At Hubexo, we're not here to coast — we're here to
challenge, grow, and build better
. You'll have the mandate, budget, and authority to design a global DevOps function from the ground up, supported by a leadership team that values innovation and ownership. In return, you'll get the space to dream big, lead with purpose, and make an impact that lasts.
