Community Learning & Skills Tutor - ESOL WMF2423eJob description
Location: Carlisle
Contract Type: Temporary for 12 months
About this opportunity
Our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) curriculum continues to grow in Cumberland; therefore, we are looking for a dynamic, flexible, and creative ESOL specialist to enable us to respond to the needs of our learners and work closely with the Cumberland Global Resettlement Team. This is initially a 12-month fixed term position (with possibility of extending) which will support some of the most vulnerable people towards integration and employment.
The role will require the ability to carry out Initial Assessments and offer tailored Information Advice and Guidance to enable our learners to reach their full potential.
You will develop and deliver to a range of learners through 1 to 1 sessions, group workshops and classes, that are tailored to the learners needs, and support them to learn and develop their language skills, which are needed for life, family and work in the UK.
Who we are looking for…
You must hold a recognised teaching qualification and have experience of teaching ESOL. It would be helpful if you had some digital or life skills teaching experience, but we would be able to offer you training in these areas.
The role will be based in Carlisle, however there may be a requirement to travel to other areas in Cumberland, with delivery of classes being face to face and taught from Monday to Friday during the day and potentially evenings.
We are keen to get the right knowledgeable, supportive and passionate person. In return we can offer you the chance to be part of a great 'can-do' team and the opportunity to make a real difference to people's lives.
What can we offer you
Working at Westmorland and Furness Council you will receive a variety of benefits, including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and other various perks and discounts schemes.
