Are you passionate about helping young learners reach their full potential? Do you have strong leadership skills and a knack for organisation and communication? Kumon Tolworth is looking for a Senior Assistant to join our dedicated team and support the smooth running of our after-school learning centre.

As the Senior Assistant, you will be the right hand to the Instructor – ensuring sessions run efficiently, supporting staff and students, and communicating with parents to create a positive and professional learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Instructor in the day-to-day management of the centre
  • Lead and manage a team of assistants during class sessions
  • Provide guidance and feedback to students following the Kumon Method of Learning
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and development
  • Take initiative in problem-solving and maintaining smooth operations during busy periods
  • Assist with marking, student progress tracking, and centre organisation

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and leadership abilities
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently when required
  • A passion for education and helping children succeed
  • Experience working with children (preferred but not essential)
  • First Aid training certification (preferred but not essential)
  • Reliability and professionalism

Hours:

  • After-school hours (typically weekdays between 3:30 pm – 7:00 pm; exact times vary by centre schedule)
  • Flexibility may be required based on class needs

Contract:

  • Zero hours contract (hours dependent on centre needs)
  • Potential for additional hours at Kumon Richmond
