Overview

We are seeking a friendly and professional Server to join our dynamic team in delivering exceptional guest experiences at our cafe, situated in Welwyn Garden City. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop your culinary and customer service skills while contributing to a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.

Duties

  • Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special dietary requirements are noted
  • Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
  • Provide attentive guest service, addressing questions and resolving issues courteously
  • Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and maximise sales
  • Ensure food safety standards are adhered to during service and food preparation
  • Assist with setting up tables, cleaning work areas, and restocking supplies as needed
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during busy periods
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and basic food preparation techniques
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills and a friendly demeanour towards guests and team members
  • Basic maths skills for handling transactions and billing purposes
  • Kitchen or culinary experience is a plus but not mandatory
  • A genuine passion for guest services and creating memorable dining experiences

We are open 6am - 4pm 7 days a week with the ideal candidate working 4 / 5 days per week including weekends.

salary negotiable depending on experience.
