We are currently seeking a Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) to join our team, specifically to manage the prescribing and titration of ADHD medication.

Role Overview:

As a Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP), you will be responsible for prescribing and titrating ADHD medication in accordance with national guidelines and the needs of individual patients. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care to individuals with ADHD, ensuring optimal therapeutic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ADHD Medication Prescribing: Assess, prescribe, and monitor the use of ADHD medications in line with established guidelines and best practices.
  • Titration Management: Conduct and oversee the titration process of ADHD medication to achieve the most effective dose for each patient, ensuring minimal side effects and maximum therapeutic benefit.
  • Patient Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments to understand patients' medical history, symptoms, and treatment preferences. Evaluate their response to medications and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Monitoring and Follow-Up: Provide ongoing support and follow-up care to ensure patients are progressing well with their treatment and address any concerns related to the medication.
  • Collaborative Care: Work closely with GPs, psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to patient care.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about ADHD, treatment options, and potential side effects of medication, empowering them to make informed decisions about their care.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Qualification: A Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) qualification (NMP V300) and an active registration with a professional body (e.g., NMC or HCPC).
  • Experience: Proven experience in prescribing medication, preferably in the field of ADHD or mental health. Experience with ADHD medication titration is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge: A solid understanding of ADHD and related pharmacological treatments. Knowledge of NICE guidelines and other relevant clinical frameworks is essential.
  • Skills: Strong clinical decision-making skills, with the ability to assess and monitor patients effectively. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Patient-Centered Approach: A compassionate, patient-centered approach, with a focus on delivering high-quality, individualized care to patients.
  • Commitment to Professional Development: A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with the latest developments in ADHD treatment and non-medical prescribing.
