Are you ready to launch your career in Regulatory Affairs? We are offering a 12-week paid internship based onsite at our Hull office, starting in June 2026. You'll gain hands-on experience in a global medical device company, working alongside experts who ensure our products meet the highest standards of safety and compliance. This is your chance to see how regulatory strategy shapes innovation and patient outcomes.
What does Regulatory Affairs mean for Smith+Nephew?
Regulatory Affairs plays a crucial role in ensuring our products remain compliant with market and patient needs. With our products available in 100 countries globally, supporting this effort requires significant dedication This team is responsible for obtaining vital approvals from governments to manufacture our medical devices. They are involved in every stage of the business cycle, from coordinating with governing bodies during innovation, to post-market activities ensuring products perform as intended and follow regulations. Additionally, they play a key role in understanding market needs, and servicing customers.
What will you be doing?
You'll immerse yourself in the world of medical device regulations. From compiling European Technical Files to supporting global regulatory programmes, you'll learn how products move from concept to market. You'll review labelling and promotional materials, respond to queries, and collaborate with experienced professionals to ensure compliance with EU regulations. Every day will bring new challenges and insights into the medical device industry.

Success starts with curiosity and a willingness to learn. You'll thrive if you:
- Are a current university student eager to explore Regulatory Affairs, this internship is best placed for 2nd and 3rd year students.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Are proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Can work onsite at our Hull office and bring a proactive approach to planning and organisation
