The Role

Join us as a Compliance Manager for Hometree Home Cover, where you will take ownership of your role and of compliance for this regulated insurance business, shaping your own roadmap alongside the General Counsel.

You'll provide clear compliance advice, lead end-to-end monitoring reviews, and drive regulatory policy implementation, all while ensuring accurate reporting and leading change programmes. With exposure to senior stakeholders and regulators in a high-growth fintech/greentech environment, you'll work closely with an experienced General Counsel. Strong communication, project management, and collaboration skills are essential, as well as a passion for training and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, dynamic sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory horizon & policy: Maintain the compliance plan; map evolving rules (Consumer Duty, ICOBS, PROD, SYSC, SM&CR) to business processes; brief on impacts and drive timely change programmes.
  • Monitoring & MI: Improve upon and execute a proportionate and compliant monitoring programme (including sales, renewals, claims and complaints) and track actions through to closure.
  • First-line execution and enablement: Improve and where necessary execute onboarding & annual training for customer-facing teams, including financial-promotion and sales-script controls, so our principal and underwriters maintain trust in how we do business.
  • Regulatory returns & reporting: Lead the collation and submission of compliance MI, attestations and other reports to our principal and insurers, ensuring accuracy, audit trail and on-time delivery.
  • SM&CR & Fitness & Propriety: Run annual certifications; maintain Statements of Responsibility & Conduct Rule training logs.
  • Advisory & projects: Sit "in the room" on new home emergency insurance product design, pricing and marketing; identify conduct risks early and document Consumer-Duty outcome testing.
  • Compliance Culture Carrier: Model the compliance behaviours we expect to see, coach the first-line and help colleagues grow their compliance commitment and knowledge.

What we're looking for:

  • Experienced compliance professional: we would anticipate this role being suitable for someone with 2–5 years' second line compliance experience in retail general insurance (broker, MGA or AR/principal environment), with hands-on conduct-risk and product-governance experience.
  • Regulatory fluency: Confident navigating ICOBS, PRIN, SYSC, COCON, DISP, PROD and the Consumer Duty outcomes framework.
  • Practical and strategic: Proven ability to offer clear compliance advice, lead end-to-end monitoring reviews, and manage regulatory change.
  • Strong communicator: First-class written and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor content to diverse stakeholders.
  • Project & time management: Skilled at balancing priorities, meeting deadlines, and leading cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Collaborative and adaptable: Works seamlessly with varied teams; thrives in scale-up settings and is keen to dive into new areas.
  • Creative trainer: Brings compliance to life with engaging training sessions, including for AR obligations under our principal agreement.
  • Problem-solver: Spots risks early and implements practical, business-friendly solutions.

Extra Credit:

  • ICA Diploma in Governance, Risk & Compliance (or equivalent) is a plus.
