Castle Point Borough Council is seeking two proactive and detail-oriented
Electoral Services Officers
to join our Legal & Democratic Services team within the Corporate & Customer Directorate.
About The Role
This is a key role supporting the delivery of efficient and compliant electoral services. You'll be responsible for maintaining the Register of Electors, coordinating elections and referenda, managing polling stations and staff, and ensuring adherence to electoral legislation. Your work will directly contribute to the democratic process and uphold the standards set by the Electoral Commission.
Key Skills And Abilities
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and electoral management systems (e.g. Civica Xpress)
Experience
- Extensive experience in electoral services and election delivery
- Experience managing election logistics and staff coordination
- Proven ability to interpret and apply legislation
Qualifications
- While no specific qualification is mandated, in-depth knowledge of electoral legislation and procedures is desirable
