Job Description

Are you an inspiring educator ready to make a difference in a specialist school setting? We are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join a supportive and trauma-informed SEMH school in Essex this September.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet the needs of students with SEMH

  • Develop meaningful relationships with students to support emotional development

  • Work closely with support staff and senior leaders to maintain a safe, consistent environment

  • Track and assess pupil progress and adapt teaching accordingly

  • Participate in professional development and whole-school improvement initiatives

  • Lead a classroom with clear boundaries, high expectations, and empathy

  • Support pupils' reintegration and future pathways

Qualifications and Experience

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (essential)

  • Experience working with SEMH or complex SEND learners

  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

  • Understanding of trauma-informed and restorative approaches

  • Ability to build trust and motivate disengaged learners

  • Flexible and creative teaching style

  • A commitment to inclusion and personalised learning
