Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Café Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our café. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for hospitality, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing the café team, food preparation, and overall guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily café operations, ensuring smooth service and adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Lead and manage a team of baristas and kitchen staff, providing training and support to enhance their skills.
  • Oversee food preparation and production, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards and are served promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in both the front-of-house and kitchen areas.
  • Implement effective inventory management practices for food supplies and café equipment.
  • Foster a welcoming atmosphere for customers, addressing any concerns or feedback promptly.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop seasonal menus that reflect customer preferences.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, conducting regular checks on food storage and preparation areas.
  • Manage money, cash handling processes, including end-of-day reconciliation and preparation for banking deposits.

Experience

  • Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality or restaurant industry is essential.
  • Strong culinary experience with knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
  • Previous supervisory experience is required, demonstrating effective team management skills.
  • Familiarity with barista duties or coffee preparation is advantageous.
  • A solid understanding of food safety practices and regulations is necessary.
  • Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff in a fast-paced environment.
