Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Neurologist to join our multidisciplinary medical team. This role involves providing expert neurological care, conducting comprehensive assessments, and collaborating with other specialties to optimize patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in neurology, including familiarity with advanced diagnostic tools, clinical research, and a broad range of neurological conditions. Duties

  • Conduct detailed neurological evaluations through physical examinations and patient assessments, utilizing medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with neurological disorders, including neurocritical care, dementia, epilepsy, stroke, and neurodegenerative diseases.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic and EMR systems to document findings, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations using advanced imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, and diagnostic radiology techniques.
  • Manage acute pain and airway issues in emergency or inpatient settings, including ventilator management and spinal tap procedures.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across inpatient, outpatient, ICU, PACU, and post-acute care settings to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in clinical research studies related to neurology or other relevant specialties such as psychiatry or immunology.
  • Provide patient education on disease management, health coaching strategies, and preventive care measures.
  • Engage in discharge planning, follow-up care coordination, and telehealth consultations to ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital standards including infection control protocols and NCQA standards for quality assurance.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Neurology.
  • Extensive experience with neurology-specific procedures such as nerve conduction studies, electromyography (EMG), catheterization techniques, lumbar punctures (spinal tap), and Botox treatments for neurological conditions.
  • Proficiency in using EHR systems like Epic along with familiarity with medical coding (CPT/ICD) for documentation purposes.
  • Knowledge of subspecialties such as neurocritical care, pediatric neurology, neuroimaging (CT/MRI), stroke management, epilepsy monitoring, and rehabilitation medicine.
  • Experience working within hospital settings including Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology related to neurology and related fields such as cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology, pulmonology, psychiatry, and immunology.
  • Ability to perform clinical research activities or participate in ongoing trials is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective patient service delivery and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Valid medical license to practice within the state; additional certifications in basic life support (BLS) or advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) are preferred.
