Job Introduction

We are looking for a professional to work within and manage our NEC and scheduling works Team.

  • You will be joining a team of planners

  • You will be self-motivated with the confidence to represent the Council's interests in various forums and circumstances.

Part of your duties will include –

  • Assist with the management of planners. Be responsible for ensuring that managing supply chain staff, sub-contractors and other partners.

  • Establishing high standards of work, safety and best practice on all works.

  • Ensure the team has a customer orientated approach, ensure best value for money is achieved in the delivery of the works.

  • Delivery of all programmes within agreed budgets and timescales.

  • Ensure the delivery of the Repairs Service is smooth and efficient.

As Assistant Labour Scheduling Manager you will need –

  • Excellent observational skills

  • A good knowledge of the construction industry, including materials, trades, building methods and legal requirements.

  • Excellent organisational, communication and negotiating skills.

  • Excellent written communication, report writing skills.

  • Excellent IT skills and experience of planning ordering and scheduling systems.

  • The ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with staff at all levels.

Ideally you should have a recognised professional qualification or equivalent construction related experience with a good knowledge of the building industry. You will have the skills and abilities required to deal with the conflicting demands and timescales, whilst maintaining good relationships with team members.
