Job Title: SEN Tutor/Mentor
Location: Folkestone
Pay: £18-25 hour
About the Role
Active Outreach Services is an alternative education service provider. We work with children & young people aged 5 – 25yrs. We are currently seeking patient, creative and nurturing SEN Tutor/Mentors. The ideal tutor/mentor will have a strong background in tutoring, teaching or mentoring with the ability to engage and inspire children and young people. This role is particularly suited for individuals who have experience working with children, including those with special educational needs, including for example ASD and ADHD.
Sessions will be delivered one to one and face to face with the learner. The ideal mentor will have a strong background in tutoring, teaching or mentoring with the ability to engage and inspire children and young people.

Duties
- Develop personalised lesson plans that align with the curriculum and address specific learning goals.
- Assess students' progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly to ensure effective learning outcomes.
- Foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment that promotes student confidence.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and educators regarding progress and areas for improvement.
- Stay updated on educational best practices and incorporate innovative teaching strategies into sessions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and concisely.
- Experience working with children, demonstrating patience and understanding of their diverse needs.
- Knowledge of special education practices is highly desirable.
- A passion for education and a commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £18.00-£25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
