Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for childcare and early childhood education, providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to manage daily activities within the nursery setting. This position is to cover maternity leave, however it may be possible to extend your contract at the end of the term, subject to passing your probationary period.

Duties

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of educational activities that promote children's development.
  • Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and daily activities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised nursery environment.
  • Support children in developing social skills through group activities and individual interactions.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to create a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance the overall experience for children in the nursery.

Experience

  • Level 3 qualified staff
  • Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is desirable.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage groups of children effectively.
  • A good level of Welsh language. We will consider candidates with basic Welsh on the understanding that you will make every effort to improve your spoken Welsh.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and fostering their growth and development.
  • Experience in a nursery setting is an advantage but not essential; a willingness to learn is highly valued.

Working Hours

The Nursery is open 8 - 6 and candidates will be expected to work within these hours. The sucessful candidate will need to be flexable with the hours that they are available to work as employess may be asked to work extra hours to cover staff absences. you You will initally be offered hours a week.
