The
Domestic Violence Senior Worker
will work as part of the substance misuse service and Enhance understanding of the needs of those who are or have been victim of domestic abuse with substance use needs. The post holder will support and advocate on behalf of victims of domestic violence improving the outcomes of victims (adults and children), of domestic abuse.

  • Please note Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

About the role

  • Work with a small caseload of service users experiencing domestic abuse.
  • Link in with local domestic abuse services and safe accommodation to reduce the barriers of victims of domestic abuse to access services and securing safe accommodation.
  • Support other Recovery Workers who may have domestic abuse service users.
  • Design and develop training on domestic violence to the Change Grow Live staff and other services in conjunction with other Domestic Abuse Specialist services.
  • Contribute and attend relevant multi-agency meeting including MARAC.

About you

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field.
  • Knowledge and experience of multi-agency working and establishing partnerships with other professions to achieve good outcomes for the service user group.
  • Ability to communicate complex information to individuals and groups in a way that is easily understood.
  • Written and verbal communication skills and a high degree of personal IT competency. The ability to accurately update and maintain records in a timely fashion and to work to deadlines for the submission of information.
  • Excellent team working and interpersonal skills, maintaining a highly cooperative approach to supporting colleagues in delivering service objectives.
