Job Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our clients reputable construction/finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, Uploading invoices & raising queries with suppliers, managing accounts payable, managing payment runs and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role is essential in supporting the financial health of their organisation and requires proficiency in various accounting software.

Duties

  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero.
  • Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management review.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies as they arise.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process.
  • Provide support in the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
