Duty Manager

Garvie & Co. is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and highly organised Duty Manager to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a leadership role in the day-to-day operations of our vibrant hospitality venue, ensuring exceptional customer service and the smooth running of all shifts.
Key Responsibilities
As a Duty Manager, you will be crucial to our success, reporting directly to the General Manager. Your duties will include:
- Operational Oversight: Taking full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the complex during your assigned shifts, ensuring smooth coordination across all departments.
- Team Leadership & Supervision: Leading, supervising, and motivating all team members on shift, including delegating tasks, managing breaks, and ensuring high standards of professionalism and productivity.
- Customer Experience: Acting as the main point of contact for guests and customers, handling all enquiries, feedback, and complaints efficiently, professionally, and courteously to resolve issues and guarantee satisfaction.
- Opening & Closing: Acting as a key holder, responsible for the complete and secure opening and closing of the building, including cashing up procedures and ensuring all checks are completed.
- Shift Handover: Conducting clear and concise handovers with managers on the prior and following shifts to maintain consistent communication and operational continuity.
Requirements & Skills
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Duty Manager, Supervisor, or similar leadership role within a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Leadership: Strong team management and motivational skills, with the confidence to lead shifts independently and be a positive role model.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with guests, staff, and senior management.
- Problem-Solving: A proactive, quick-thinking approach to addressing operational challenges and customer issues.
- Organisational Skills: High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Availability: Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required by a seven-day-a-week operation.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of compliance, health & safety, and cash handling procedures.
