About Tremayne Estates Group

The Group currently comprises a mainly let agricultural estate in Cornwall; Pentewan Sands Ltd which is a medium-sized trading company in the Holiday Parks sector; Heligan Development Ltd which is a small estate-linked property investment company and a 50% interest in Estuary Building & Plumbing Ltd which is a small company.

Role: Reporting to the CEO, you will have full responsibility for reporting accurate financial information on a timely basis, within a system of strong financial control. You will consolidate the financial management of the various entities into an integrated 'single estate' structure of systems and processes. This is a hands-on, varied and challenging role for an experienced accountant with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce quarterly Trust accounts for the estate
  • Oversee production of the monthly management accounts for Pentewan Sands Ltd
  • Produce quarterly management accounts for Heligan Development Ltd
  • Prepare VAT returns, including partial exemption calculations
  • Prepare monthly accruals, prepayments & accounting entries
  • Raise sales invoices, process supplier invoices & maintain accounting records
  • Make improvements by automating and streamlining existing processes
  • Develop the finance team of two

Experience Required:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Extensive knowledge of financial reporting and accounting best practices under UK GAAP
  • Preparation of year end accounts and liaison with external auditors
  • Practical experience of VAT and Payroll
  • Systems experience: Excel (advanced), Sage 50 Accounts and Xero (desirable)
