Interview Date: 08 December 2025

Please note that employment in the post of Graduate Teaching Assistant is contingent on the continuation of PhD study

This is a combined teaching and research post for a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) in Computing, based within the Faculty of Education, Arts, Science and Technology at the University of Northampton. The post offers the opportunity to contribute to undergraduate teaching while undertaking a part-time, funded PhD entitled "Design and Evaluation of a Tutor-Configurable Intelligent Feedback Platform for Computing Education."

The successful candidate will support the delivery of teaching and learning across a range of Computing modules, including programming, software development, and related areas. Responsibilities will include running lab sessions, supporting student learning through tutorials, assisting with marking and feedback, and contributing to an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Alongside these teaching responsibilities, the postholder will conduct doctoral research on the development and evaluation of an AI-driven, tutor-configurable feedback platform designed to enhance the quality, efficiency, and personalisation of feedback in Computing education.

This is a part-time fixed-term appointment for an initial period of up to two years, subject to potential extension to coincide with the four-year duration of the part-time PhD programme. The post normally requires two to three days per week during term time, with flexibility around research commitments and academic calendars.

The post offers full coverage of PhD tuition fees and a GTA salary, along with access to research training, supervision, and opportunities to publish and present research at academic conferences.
