Consultant in Adult/Child Psychiatry for remote only role

This vacancy is for remote only work with a private service that have been established for around 12 months and provides an exceptional level of patient care. Due to growth and more complex cases, we are seeking Neurodevelopmental assessments for private patients.

Assessing or reviewing 3-4 patients per week.

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our ADHD health team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing expert psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning for a diverse patient population. This position offers an opportunity to work within a supportive environment committed to delivering high-quality patient care, with a particular focus on children and young people. The role is fully paid and involves working within established clinical guidelines, ensuring the best outcomes for patients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients across various age groups, including children and adolescents.
  • Develop and implement personalised treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide expert advice on mental health issues, medication management, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary to optimise outcomes.
  • Offer consultation and support to other healthcare professionals regarding complex psychiatric cases.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate clinical records in accordance with legal and organisational standards.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and ongoing professional development activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant clinical policies, ethical standards, and confidentiality requirements.

Requirements

  • Medical degree recognised by the General Medical Council (GMC) with full registration and licence to practise in the UK.
  • Specialist qualification in Psychiatry (e.g., MRCPsych or equivalent).
  • Proven experience working as a Psychiatrist, ideally with experience in paediatric or child psychiatry.
  • Strong commitment to patient care with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience working with children or young people is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and independently when required.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Days of work

You can choose a day that suits you, 6 days per week, Monday to Saturday.

Location

This role is to be based remotely and you can work 100% from home (UK based)

Contract

This role is ongoing on a self-employed contract.

Payment Method

LTD Company or Self Employed

Patient Profile

Patients are mainly self-funded and some are referred through a private medical insurer.

Consultants would need to have their own indemnity cover for private practice work.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm, Freelance, Zero hours contract

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: £120.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 – 6 per week
