Responsible for: Welfare of Children
345 Springfield Preschool, nestled in the picturesque surroundings of The Grove, Alexandra Palace, is looking for a passionate and dedicated Level 4/5 Childcare professional to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time position offering a wonderful opportunity to work in a beautiful and inspiring location where children's development is at the heart of what we do.
Main Duties
· To assist with the planning of the curriculum in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
To help set up the playroom for the daily program and to help tidy away at the end of a session.
· To have solid knowledge and understanding of the early years framework and how to implement in your everyday practice
· To act as a key worker to a small group of children, planning activities and ensuring each child's needs are recognised and met.
· To have a sound knowledge of child development and an understanding of how children learn, offering an appropriate level of support, stimulation and be able to extend and plan in the moment
· To advise the preschool manager/deputy manager of any concerns e.g. over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
· To attend and participate in regular staff meetings.
· To attend mandatory training courses and CPD training as required.
· To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the manager/deputy manager, in accordance with the preschool's objectives.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
JOB TITLE: Preschool Practitioner
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Early Years, NVQ Level 4/5 or equivalent.
- experience of working within an early years setting with children 2-4 years.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Friendly and flexible
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Able to change and adapt to new ways of working
- Computer literate, internet and email
