Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Tutor role based in Birmingham. The Tutor will work closely with students to deliver engaging, personalized lessons in their subject area(s). Responsibilities include assessing students' individual learning needs, preparing lesson plans, providing one-on-one support, assisting with assignments and exam preparation, and fostering a positive, encouraging learning environment. The tutor will also provide regular progress updates to parents or guardians.

Qualifications

  • Strong subject-matter expertise in core GCSE subjects or primary education topics such as reading, writing, and mathematics
  • Lesson planning, curriculum understanding, and effective teaching techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Proven ability to motivate students and instill confidence in their learning abilities
  • Adaptability and creativity in delivering lessons to meet diverse learning needs
  • Prior tutoring or teaching experience, especially with GCSE-level or primary students, is highly desirable
  • Formal teaching qualifications, such as a QTS or other recognized certification, are advantageous but not mandatory
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment
