About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-focused Casual Housekeeper to join our hospitality team at Newcastle Racecourse. You will play a vital role in ensuring our facilities, including guest areas, function rooms, and back-of-house spaces, are maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness and presentation. This is a casual position with shifts offered based on event schedules, race days, and hospitality functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out a wide range of housekeeping duties, including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitising across the venue.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation in hospitality suites, bars, restaurants, and event areas before, during, and after race days.
  • Clean and service restrooms and public areas throughout events.
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues promptly to the supervisor.
  • Work efficiently as part of a team to deliver exceptional standards of cleanliness that enhance guest experience.
  • Follow health, safety, and hygiene protocols, particularly in high-traffic public areas.

Requirements

  • Previous housekeeping, cleaning, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • High attention to detail and pride in delivering excellent service.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends, evenings, and peak race days.
  • Physically fit to carry out cleaning tasks across a large venue.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
