Casework Co-ordinator (Fixed-term 12 months)

Job description

Student Casework is a small, busy team with responsibility for a range of formal university processes including student complaints, academic appeals and student conduct. We're looking for a Casework Co-ordinator to provide a high-quality service to our students and colleagues.

You'll be a key point of contact, providing expert advice, support and guidance on the application of policies and procedures to staff and students; working closely with both academic and professional services colleagues at all levels to ensure that cases are resolved promptly and effectively; maintaining oversight of cases; monitoring how we're meeting our service standards; and applying what we learn from cases for the enhancement of our processes and the student experience.

We're looking for someone with experience in a student-facing or customer service role. You'll have skills in complaints or appeals handling, disciplinary cases or working at Faculty or School level in a university or college.

You'll need to be a creative problem solver, able to think critically and to deliver high quality, accurate work, often to tight deadlines. You will also have experience of dealing with complex and sensitive information and be able to communicate clearly, with tact and understanding, while remaining impartial and professional.

The post is available for a period of 12 months. Applications from University colleagues who wish to apply on a secondment basis are welcome.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Kathryn Giddings, Compliance & Casework Manager:

Closing date: Monday 3rd November :59) Please note that you will not be able to edit or submit a part-completed application form after the closing date.

Working here means you'll have access to a wide range of benefits including our generous pension schemes, excellent holiday entitlements, flexible working, reduced study fees, subsidised fitness facilities and a lot more.

We welcome applications from all individuals and particularly from black and minority ethnic candidates as members of these groups are currently under-represented at this level of post. All appointments will be based on merit.
