Main Duties of the Job

  • Conduct detailed pre-assessments in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide patients and their families with clear information and support regarding upcoming procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical practice and patient safety.
  • Act as a role model and mentor to junior staff.
  • Support the department manager in service development and quality improvement initiatives.

Job Description and Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver skilled nursing care to patients attending pre-assessment clinics.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, coordinating with the wider clinical team.
  • Interpret clinical information to identify risks related to surgery or anaesthesia.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to clinical guidelines.
  • Request investigations in line with NICE guidelines and evidence-based practice.
  • Promote health education and support patients in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
